Typography in Indian Languages

Following my four months teaching as a Fulbright lecturer at four institutions in India, I wrote an article about the typography project I had adapted for the four design programs. The article was published in Visible Language, vol. 37, no. 2, 2003. Here is the abstract. See/read the article here.

Martha Scotford is a book designer, and taught graphic design and design history at North Carolina State University for 32 years. She has received NEA grants for research on women in design, and was a Fulbright Lecturer in India in 2001.
